Located 60 km from Annecy and 50 km from Chamonix, on a sunny plateau at an altitude of 1,140 metres, the village of Les Carroz d’Arâches is the perfect setting for discovery, with its forests, streams and magnificent views of the Aravis mountain range.

In June and September, the Les Flocons Verts team welcomes your school trip projects in this exceptional mountain setting.

From primary school to secondary school and high school, and for more than 40 years, the holiday centre has been welcoming lively, educational stays that give children the opportunity to discover the mountains in a fun and engaging way!

The rooms

Comfort, discovery and a friendly atmosphere are the key features of our stays, which have delighted groups of children from all over France for more than 40 years.

Accommodation capacity: up to 300 children
Total capacity approved by Youth and Sports authorities: 300
Total capacity approved by the French Ministry of Education: 180

The rooms accommodate between 4 and 9 children. Despite their large size, they are not dormitories but comfortable bedrooms decorated in a traditional mountain style. Rooms with 7 beds or more are spread over two levels and have 2 bathrooms.

Meals

School trips are offered on a full-board basis, so you don’t have to worry about any meals during your stay. Our chef and his team prepare buffet-style meals, allowing every child to choose what they enjoy!

The restaurant has seating for 180 guests at the same time and offers panoramic views of the Aravis mountain range. Like the bedrooms, the restaurant has recently been renovated.

Activities

Because everyone has their own area of expertise, Les Flocons Verts has built a network of carefully selected professionals, all approved by the French Ministry of Education, to organise and supervise the activity programme during your stay.

Mountain sports activities

For supervised activities such as guided hiking, orienteering, climbing, via ferrata, canyoning and caving, we recommend Cairn. This is a collective of qualified, independent outdoor sports instructors who provide a very high standard of service. Friendly and professional, they have been a favourite with teachers (and children!) for many years.

In fact, they have been working with us from the very beginning and, over 40 years, we have never received a single negative review. That says it all!

Environmental education activities

For more scientific activities focusing on the mountain environment, we recommend the Centre de la Nature Montagnarde de Sallanches, whose team travels directly to the holiday centre.

This team of passionate educators offers workshops and outdoor activities focusing on topics such as biodiversity, geology, how glaciers work, the impact of climate change and the effects of tourism on mountain environments.

Land Art activities

From Les Flocons Verts, offer your pupils workshops exploring the relationship between art and the mountains. These workshops are designed and led by Cécile Helouis, a professional artist with qualifications from the École des Beaux-Arts, in art therapy and as a state-certified popular education instructor.

Combining creativity and imagination with an exploration of and respect for the natural world, these indoor and outdoor workshops offer a different way of experiencing and discovering the mountains.
