Vanoise National Park Visitor Center

Free-access museum in the heart of Pralognan

Whether with family, friends, or colleagues, discovering Vanoise National Park is a must. To make the most of everything it has to offer, immerse yourself in knowledge at the Vanoise National Park Visitor Center.

Housed in a museum facility renovated in 2013, the center provides all the information you need to explore the pristine natural environment of Vanoise National Park in a fun and engaging way.

You can learn about the park’s protected flora and fauna and get up close to life-sized models of species such as the ptarmigan, black grouse, marmot, and mountain hare.

The Vanoise Visitor Center features both permanent and temporary exhibitions, with interactive elements designed for all ages: hands-on models, tactile objects, informative graphics on furniture and walls, and audio interviews (with subtitled videos and audio descriptions available via stereo magnetic collars).

Through the permanent exhibition on the famous Salt Route, you’ll discover the Vanoise Pass at the heart of the park, which was used to transport salt from Moûtiers to Italy via Pralognan-La-Vanoise and Termignon. Locals share their memories, recounting the lives and trades of that era.

In addition to the exhibitions, the Visitor Center offers group workshops (bookable two days in advance).

Come and enrich your knowledge of the cultural and geographical heritage of Pralognan and its surroundings at the Vanoise National Park Visitor Center!

Hotel Le Télémark is just 2 km from the Visitor Center, easily accessible on foot.
