The Annecy Lake Festival

70 minutes of fireworks!

Did you know? It was Napoleon III who initiated the very first edition of the Fête du Lac in 1860: when Savoy was annexed to France, he was welcomed with a grand Venetian-style celebration.

Since then, every first Saturday of August, a spectacular show lights up the waters of Lake Annecy.

For the occasion, the Bay of Albigny transforms into a stage hosting one of Europe’s largest fireworks displays—70 minutes of dazzling pyrotechnics choreographed to music, with breathtaking light and water effects.

Each summer, a renowned pyrotechnician creates a unique theme that mesmerizes both young and old. Around the large esplanade of the Pâquier, on the lake’s shores, over 100,000 spectators come every year to witness this magnificent spectacle!
