The Annecy Lake Marathon

One of the most beautiful marathons in France

Are you passionate about trail running or simply admire great athletes? Come participate in or cheer on the runners of the Annecy Marathon!

The Annecy Lake Marathon has been held since 1980 and is considered one of the most beautiful marathons in France! Runners race in a stunning setting along the turquoise waters of Lake Annecy and at the foot of the majestic Haute-Savoie mountains. The course passes through charming towns on the way out and back: Annecy, Sévrier, Saint-Jorioz, Duingt, and Doussard, following roads and the lakeside bike path with a 100m elevation gain.

Thanks to impressive performances, the Annecy Marathon ranks in the top 10 marathons in France! The women’s record is held by Ethiopian Helen Bekele Tola, set in 2016 with a time of 2h29m21s; the men’s record dates from 2011, set by Kenyan Benjamin Bitok, who ran 2h11m33s!

The event attracts more and more French and international participants every year: nearly 2,700 athletes competed in 2019. Some run solo, others in groups for mutual encouragement!

The Annecy Lake Marathon is complemented by a half-marathon and races for youth aged 7 to 15. So lace up your shoes and let’s go! Whether as a runner or spectator, this event is both friendly and challenging.
