To ensure a smooth visit, here is some essential logistical information to know before heading out.
Opening hours
The site is open for self-guided visits all day, year-round, except during event preparation periods. As mentioned above, access is closed for safety reasons during the setup and dismantling phases (often from May to July). Be sure to check the exact dates provided by the Clisson tourist office to avoid finding the gates closed.
Access and parking
To get there, enter Rue du Champ Louet, Clisson into your GPS. Unlike during the festival period when traffic is very heavy, parking is easy for the rest of the year. Parking areas are available very close to the entrance (near the famous guitar roundabout). This makes visiting the Hellfest site easy and stress-free if you’re traveling by car.
Recommended clothing
Although the site features gravel paths and the cobblestones of the Hellcity area, it is still an outdoor walk. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, especially if you plan to explore the entire area. In autumn or winter, consider boots or waterproof footwear, as some grassy areas can be damp.
